Nehru College of Nursing and Research Institute was established in 2022 by Nehru College of education and charitable trust.Trust was established way back in 1968 by the founder Chairman late P. K. Das, an eminent Chartered Engineer, a renowned Academician, a great Industrialist and a well-known Philanthropist with the focused objective of imparting world class value added practical education in aviation and other fields of technology. The trust, started originally for promoting a College of Aeronautics. diversified later on and established a cluster of Educational Institutions both in Tamil Nadu & Kerala and evolved into one of the biggest and reputed conglomerations of educational institutions.
The College of Nursing has been recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu, Approved by the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi & The Tamil Nada Nurses and Midwives Council. Chennai -Affiliated to The Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai

The college is attached to the K.G.M Hospital,100 bedded multispecialty hospital with Hi-techMedical Technologies and PK Das Institute of Medical Sciences, which is a state-of-the-art super- speciality and general hospital with 750beds which aims to provide world-class healthcare. The hospital is part of the Nehru Group of institutions, a name synonymous with quality higher education in south India.
To increase the quality of nursing research, which is undertaken in College of Nursing and make it worth publication in indexed journals so the people with the same taste can come together for a better forward move.

Fundamentals of nursing department is designed to help novice nursing students to develop knowledge and competencies required to provide evidence-based. Comprehensive basic nursing care for adult patients. using nursing process approach.
This department is designed to equip the students to develop competencies required for assessment. diagnosis, treatment. nursing management, and supportive palliative care to patients with various Medical Surgical disorders. The subject lab is equipped with articles like procedure dummies. CPR manikin. instruments and teaching aids to meet the demand or practice various procedures at different levels.
The community health nursing discipline is designed to help the students to develop broad perspectives of health. its determinants about community health arsing and understanding about the health care delivers services. health care policies and regulations. Community Health Nursing Lab is equipped with educational materials, survey records and reports,3d models, first aid kits and home visit kits to meet practical needs.
The department of child health nursing is designed for developing an understanding of the modern approach to child-care, identification, prevention and nursing management of common health problems of neonates and children. The lab is equipped with advanced and adequate articles including baby manikin, infant weighing scale and infant meter etc. Charts and models are displayed about disease conditions, growth and development, fatal development and breast feeding. Appropriate Play items for each age group is displayed.
The department ofOBG is designed the students to acquire knowledge and skills in rendering respectful maternity care to woman during antenatal, intra natal and postnatal periods in hospitals and community settings.
It is designed to provide the students with basic understanding and skills essential to meet psychiatric emergencies and perform the role of community mental health nurse. The Lab is equipped with assessment tools for intelligence, personality, attention and concentration which are frequently used by the students in the Psychiatric Unit.
The laboratory is used by students for basic cooking skills, and learning about the influence of culture on food. Students also use the laboratory for modifying recipes to meet special dietary requirements or health goals. The laboratory is used for extra-curricular activities for the nutrition students and staff, such as the healthy eating cooking session covering basic knife and cookery skills.
Anatomy Lab is highly equipped which introduces a modern, enlarged space for students to learn essential anatomical structures via up to date models.The lab enhances students ability to both visualize and understand anatomical structures for better conception of physiology of human body.
